Fredrik (18) is an extremely pleasant and charming boy, who just by being himself makes others around him feel comfortable. He is good at listening and have a positive attitude about life, which in turn inspires everyone else around him to open up and be themselves.

- I came out of the closet when I was 11 years

Fredrik understood early that he liked boys, but unlike many, he told this also to those around him already when he was 11 years old. This led to some reactions of the many that still did not know much about what being gay really was. A bit of bullying came as a result, which at times has been a quite a problem for Fredrik.

Anyway Fredrik has managed to keep his positive attitude and pleasant personality all the way through this challenging period. He now has many friends who accept him as he is, and also his family, especially his mother, has been a great support for him.

- Young people need better information early

Fredrik believe that much of the bullying that occurs against gays in school could have been avoided by giving young people information on the issue earlier.

- You have to teach people early on that it is normal that some boys like boys, just as much as some boys like girls. In other words one should provide knowledge about what it means to be queer so that young people in a simple way understand that teasing gays, really is as dumb as teasing someone for being heterosexual.

Fredrik is now done with all the bullies, and focuses on what he wants to do in the future.

The right one

- I would actually like to be an actor, and if the movie was about me and my life now, maybe the title should be "Finding Mr. Perfect." Like everybody else I want to find a significant other, so that I can take him to Paris or another romantic place. Right now I'm single, but I hope of course that a handsome boy comes along soon.

In the meantime, Fredrik focuses on finding out what choices he wants to make in relation to employment and education.

- I have some job opportunities pending, but at the same time I keep all possibilities open for what the future will contain.

Spree Magazine is nevertheless sure that Fredrik with his personal charisma and positive attitude will come over the right opportunities in life ahead of him. Fredrik is a honest person who always tell others who he is and what he likes. He is therefore an example for other young questioning people, who wish to accept themselves regardless of gender, age or sexual orientation.
